Sunidhi Chauhan has been in the music industry for over two decades, and her voice still feels as fresh and bold as it did when she started. Known for her high-energy performances and powerful vocals, she has worked with top music directors across different languages. From emotional ballads to fiery item numbers, she has done it all and continues to be one of the most loved playback singers in India.

Career Beginnings and Breakthrough (1995 to 2000)

Sunidhi Chauhan began her professional music career at just 11 years old. In 1995, she performed at the 40th Filmfare Awards with the group Little Wonders, where music director Aadesh Shrivastava noticed her and gave her the chance to sing in the film Shastra. That same year, she won the reality show Meri Awaz Suno on DD National and received the Lata Mangeshkar Trophy. 

She also released her first solo album, which was later promoted as a children’s album. Realizing the need to grow, she took classical training from Gautam Mukherjee and worked as a background vocalist for a couple of years. 

Her big break came in 1999 when singer Sonu Nigam introduced her to Sandeep Chowta, who was working on the film Mast. She recorded the title track, Ruki Ruki Si Zindagi, and Suna Tha, which gained huge popularity. 

In 2000, she teamed up with Anu Malik for Mehboob Mere from Fiza, and sang Bumbro for Mission Kashmir. Both songs helped cement her place in the industry.
