During the 1980s and early 1990s, he sang many popular duets with leading female singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Anuradha Paudwal, and Kavita Krishnamurthy.
He was affectionately called Munna and had a deep love for music, especially for Mohammed Rafi. His singing journey began in his childhood. He started his film career with a Bengali movie called Jyoti and later moved to Mumbai in 1984. With a reference from a producer’s relative, he got his first break in a Hindi film called Ambar in the same year.

Starting as a singer in restaurants, Mohammed Aziz moved to Mumbai in 1984. In Mumbai, he got his break in Hindi cinema thanks to Anu Malik. He won two unclear awards for Best Playback Singer. His final film was “Kaafila,” and before that, he lent his voice to the movie “Karan Arjun.”
Career
Mohammed Aziz began singing as a child and made his debut in a Bengali film called “Jyoti.” In 1984, he came to Mumbai with a reference from a producer’s relative, and his first Hindi film was “Ambar” in the same year.
Mohammed Aziz started his singing career in a Kolkata restaurant called Ghalib. He got his big break when music director Anu Malik asked him to sing “Mard Taangewala” for the movie “Mard,” starring Amitabh Bachchan. People initially thought it was Shabbir Kumar’s song, but it became a hit, making Aziz a popular singer. Many famous music directors like Kalyanji-Anandji, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, R.D. Burman, and others began to appreciate his talent and worked with him.
He also sang in the Odia film industry and became well-known for singing Odia bhajans and film songs. He performed on stage in India and abroad, receiving two nominations for the Best Male Playback Singer award.
Mohammed Aziz was close to Laxmikant Pyarelal. Although his career declined after their collaboration, he continued singing for famous actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Govinda, Rishi Kapoor, and Mithun Chakraborty. He had successful duets with leading female singers like Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Anuradha Paudwal, and Kavita Krishnamurthy.
