After a short time at Standard Chartered Bank, Babul Supriyo chose to follow his love for music.

Political Career
Babul Supriyo entered politics in March 2014 by joining the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). That same year, he ran for the Indian general elections from Asansol, West Bengal, and won. His victory earned him a position in Narendra Modi’s government as the Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing, making him one of the youngest ministers at the time.
In 2016, he was given a new role as the Minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
In 2019, he won the Asansol seat again, defeating Moon Moon Sen by a big margin. After his win, he became the Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
