Early Life
Ali Zafar (علی ظفر ) was born on 18 May 1980 in Lahore, Pakistan. His parents were both professors at the University of the Punjab. He went to C.A.A. Public School at first and then changed to Beaconhouse School System. He did well in his exams there. After that, he went to the National College of Arts and graduated in 2002 as a painter with top marks.
Before he became famous in Pakistani music, Ali Zafar did some modeling for adverts and acted on TV. You might have seen him in shows like Lunda-Bazar, Kanch Ke Par, and College Jeans. He was also in a music video called Preeto by Abrar-ul-Haq.
Ali Zafar got married to Ayesha Fazli on 28 July 2009 in Lahore, Pakistan. Ayesha Fazli is distantly related to Indian actor Aamir Khan. They have a son who was born in 2010 and a daughter born in 2015.
Career
Ali Zafar started drawing at Pearl Continental Hotel in Lahore. Later, he acted in TV shows like Kollege Jeans, Kanch Ke Par, and Landa Bazar.
In 2003, he sang “Jugnuon Se Bhar De Aanchal” for the movie Shararat. His album “Huqa Pani“ was a big hit, selling over 5 million copies worldwide. He won awards like the Lux Style Award for Best Album and MTV’s Best Male Artist.
In 2006, he released his second album “Masty.” The song “Dekha” had a costly music video and was in the Hollywood film Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.
In 2010, he acted in the Bollywood film “Tere Bin Laden” as a journalist. The movie did well in India but got banned in Pakistan. He was nominated for Best Male Debut in various award ceremonies.
