Kamal Haasan was born on November 7, 1954, in Paramakudi, a place in Tamil Nadu, India. His real name is Parthasarathy Srinivasan. He really liked performing in shows and acting from a very young age. His parents, his mom who was a singer and his dad who was famous for writing plays, helped him become even better at it. He started acting in movies when he was just four years old, in a Tamil film called “Kalathur Kannamma” in 1960.
After finishing his basic school studies in Paramakudi, he moved to Madras (now called Chennai) to continue his education. In Madras, inspired by his dad, Haasan got interested in movies and the arts.

In his debut film, “Kalathur Kannamma,” Kamal Haasan received the National Film Award for Best Child Actor. He continued to excel, taking a short break for studies before returning in 1972 to mainstream cinema.
