Early Life
On October 8, 1981, Mona Singh was born in Chandigarh, Punjab, into a Sikh household. She moved around a lot as a child because her father was an Army officer, but she is now well-known for having attended Kendriya Vidyalaya Vayusena Nagar in Nagpur. In a customary Sikh ceremony, she wed filmmaker Shyam Rajagopalan on December 27, 2019.
Mona Singh took part in school plays and dance shows since she has always been drawn to the performing arts. Her love of performing inspired her to study theater at Pune’s St. Mira’s College for Girls, where she honed her craft and built the groundwork for a lucrative career.
Career
Mona Singh made her Hindi television debut in 2003–06 with Sony Entertainment Television’s renowned and phenomenally successful soap opera Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin. During this time, Singh rose to fame for her portrayal of the earnest, perceptive, and innocent Jasmeet “Jassi” Walia, whom she played for three years in a row. She became well-known thanks to the show, which also brought her numerous honors from events like the Indian Telly Awards, Apsara Awards, and Indian Television Academy Awards.
Mona Singh won the reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 1 in 2006 after competing in it. She participated in and won Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena in 2008 after hosting Femina Miss India and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 2 in 2007.
After that, Singh worked with Ekta Kapoor’s production company Balaji Telefilms on NDTV Imagine’s Radhaa Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi, where she played Raunaq Makhija from 2008 to 2009. This was the first of Singh’s four consecutive fiction program collaborations. Her concentration shifted to primarily presenting and non-fiction shows; she participated in Meethi Choori No. 1 (2010) and hosted Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2009), Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 (2010), Shaadi 3 Crore Ki (2010), Star Ya Rockstar (2011), and CID Veerta Awards (2012).
Mona Singh made her online debut in 2018 when she played Ananya in Kehne Ko Humsafar Hain. She also starred in the Netflix programs Yeh Meri Family and The Viral Fever that year. She starred in the ZEE5 and ALT Balaji serial Mission Over Mars in 2019. Her next ZEE5 appearance was in Black Widows.In September 2021, she hosted the &TV’s show Mauka-E-Vardaat.
