Vishal Dadlani came into the world on 28 June 1973 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He comes from a Sindhi family. Vishal studied at Hill Grange High School in Mumbai and later attended Jai Hind College for two years (1989–90) before transferring to H.R. College of Commerce and Economics. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1994. 


Dadlani began his musical journey in 1994 with the Mumbai-based band Pentagram, where he was the lead singer. Pentagram is well-known as one of the first Indian independent music bands.

While he was part of the band, Dadlani also became famous as a Bollywood music composer, singer, and lyricist. He worked on movies like Jhankaar Beats, Bluff Master, and Salaam Namaste.

Pentagram is an Indian rock band formed in 1994, led by Vishal with members Shiraz Bhattacharya, Randolph Correia, and Papal Mane.
